With the increased crowding of media content online, public relations practitioners are having to become more and more creative when it comes to setting their company apart from the rest. The public is no longer satisfied with plain and simple text explanations, the public needs content rich images, artful graphics, and PIZAZZ to grasp their attention. I believe that the future of public relations will bring upon several new and innovative methods of presenting content to the public. As an easily distracted consumer myself, I can attest to the point that consumers need something catchy to grab their attention, and generally videos are the best method of doing so.
My prediction for the future of public relations is that public relations practitioners will begin to discover new ways to gain the public attention for their company or business that they so greatly desire. Specifically what I mean by “new ways” is content-rich images for public relations purposes. The way to ensure that these content rich images successful is to first make sure that the content within depicts a specific meaning or message that the company wants associated with its name. To see where content rich images could go in the world of public relations, it is helpful to refer back to propaganda, as it was used to promote wars and movements.

In a way you could say that this addition of content rich media is the public relations profession doubling back to the times when propaganda was so highly used amongst companies and businesses. Propaganda is images that often times portray an action that is encoded within that is either promoting or demonstrating support for something. Propaganda is the perfect example of content rich media because it is a tried and true method that was used quite frequently several years ago.
